What is PRP treatment?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is plasma containing a high concentration of platelets.

Centrifugation separates blood into a yellow plasma layer and a red blood cell layer.

At this time, the yellow plasma layer contains a large amount of platelets, and the platelets contain many various growth factors.

Further centrifugation separates highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from platelet-poor plasma (PPP). Only the resulting PRP is used.

Complimentary PRP with Every Hair Transplant

Moh Hair Transplant Center uses PRP solution in every hair transplant procedure. PRP treatment to maximize follicle survival is provided free of charge.

A typical platelet count is 150,000–400,000 per microliter (μL). PRP is plasma with concentrated platelets; its concentration varies with the preparation method and the individual.

These platelets contain growth factors such as VEGF, PDGF, and TGF-b, which are very important for hair growth, and when they come into contact with hair follicles, they increase hair follicle growth and survival.

Harvested follicular units are stored in a keep-cooling device maintained at 4°C and in PRP and special preservation solution to maintain their condition.
