Procedure at a glance

  1. Hair spacing and scalp color guide the area for pigmentation.

The difference between your skin tone and existing hair color is checked, and the areas and boundaries for pigment are set first. The treatment area varies with the purpose, for example a part or crown that looks wide, or added density after a hair transplant.

  2. Small pigment dots are applied to the scalp between existing hairs.

Medical-grade pigment is placed dot by dot to soften the scalp color showing between hairs. The type of needle is chosen for your scalp, and the pigment shade is set by looking at both your scalp and hair color.

  3. Dot spacing and the overall appearance are reviewed for balance with surrounding hair.

The depth of each dot is adjusted in stages, and the spacing is matched to the surrounding hair. Because pigment does not create hair volume, we distinguish whether the concern is a lack of volume or scalp showing through, and consider the method that fits.

We continuously research and develop our own ink for application to the scalp.

It is a procedure inspired by tattoos and has been performed for a very long time, with its origins in tattoos for women’s eyeliner and eyebrows.
